Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Bayise Tutor handles personal information when you use our website, book a lesson, use our writing services or buy and sell lecture videos. It applies to information we control. Where we process material on a client's behalf, their instructions govern.
Information we collect
- Contact details. Name, email address, telephone number and, for students under 18, the parent or guardian's details.
- Learning information. Subject, level, goals, session notes, progress records and the work shared in a lesson.
- Payment information. Billing details. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Educator information. Qualifications, subject areas, availability, payment details and submitted materials.
- Technical information. IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, used to operate and secure the site.
How we use it
- To match students with educators and deliver lessons, writing support and lecture videos.
- To keep progress records and share them with the student and, for minors, their parent or guardian.
- To process payments and pay educators for sales and teaching.
- To respond to enquiries and provide support.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
Children and students under 18
Many of our students are minors. We ask for a parent or guardian's consent before a student under 18 books a lesson, and we share progress information with that adult. Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's information at any time.
Sharing
We share personal information only with the educator delivering your lessons or work, with service providers who help us operate (video conferencing, hosting, email and payment providers) under written agreements, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Academic integrity
We do not provide commissioned work for submission as a student's own, and we do not share a student's identity or work with third parties for that purpose. Requests that would breach academic integrity rules are declined.
Retention
We keep learning records while you study with us and for a reasonable period afterwards so progress can be reviewed. Payment and accounting records are kept as long as tax law requires. You may ask us to delete information we do not have to retain.
Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit and appropriate safeguards to protect personal information, and we limit access to those who need it to deliver the service.
Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to certain processing, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Write to privacy@bayisetutor.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies necessary to operate it and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
